Help me out- which book should I buy??

Hi everyone!

So, I am having a bit of a dilemma. I am planning on buying a new book (yay!!) but when I came to choosing I just couldn’t make up my mind on which one, so I was hoping you could help me out?

I managed to narrow it down to a few so if you could let me know if you really loved any of them or if you have a favourite that you think I really need to get to soon, then please comment and let me know, that would be so great! 

Here is the shortlist:

  • Empress of a thousand skies by  Rhoda Belleza
  • The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden
  • Hold Back the Stars by Katie Khan
  • Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes
  • The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid
  • Dark Matter by Blake Crouch
  • American Street by Ibi Zoboi
  • The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

  2. I sadly have only read one of the books on your list, Falling Kingdoms, and I wasn’t a super big fan of that one. It was good, but just okay. I’ve seen amazing reviews for The Diabolic and The Bear if that helps. 🙂 And I did read the first chapter of The Diabolic and it did sound really good. Not sure if that helped. XD

    • Thanks, that was really helpful! Falling Kingdoms is something I have heard a lot of hype for, which made me very wary of it, so I was hoping someone would give me their opinion on it! I will probably give that one a miss for now, thanks for the recs 🙂

  5. I was all ready to jump in with recommendations…then I realized I have read only Falling Kingdoms, which I think is fine but overhyped. I’d probably go with The Bear and the Nightingale from what I’ve heard about it.
